Refund policy

If you’re unhappy with your purchase, darn. Please get in touch with us at shop@provincetownindependent.org. Our shop manager (who is also our operations manger) will listen to your issue and we will consider a return or exchange — but only if you request it within 30 days of your purchase.

We generally take returns only on damaged or defective items. To be eligible for a return or exchange, you must return the defective item to us, and it must be unused and in the same condition that you received it in. 

Our address is Provincetown Independent, P.O. Box 1034, Provincetown, MA 02657. Shipping costs for items sent to you or back to us are not refundable.

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received it and we’ll let you know if we can approve your request for a refund or exchange — if we do, we process refunds by applying a credit to the credit card you used for your original payment. 

We have found about a one-week lag can be expected before the refund appears on your card account. If it’s an exchange, we’ll ask that you pay only the shipping for your replacement item.

Please note that you will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
